As per the technology applied, heating and discharge of cold fuel oil cargoes is achieved by injecting of hot fuel oils of same grade which practically eliminates watering of fuel oils. The same enterprise was one of the first in Russia to switch the heating of fuel oil pipelines from steam to electrical power and to employ a special on-shore blender to produce bunker fuels of required viscosity also by volumes of cargo loads. NKTTank Farms owns the oil-processing plant with the capacity of 500,000 tonnes of oil per month. The plant was developed for the special purpose of production of marine fuel, which is used for bunkering of the vessels in the ports of the Far East region of Russia and in the fishing industry areas. A part of fuel is exported. This plant was the first dedicated bunkering fuel production facility in Russia and CIS.

STRATEGIC COOPERATION WITH THE PORT OF ROTTERDAM

Nekst won an open tender to build approximately three million cubic meters of tank capacity for Urals crude oil and oil products in a facility of over 55 hectares. The new terminal will operate as an open hub, creating a trading platform for Urals crude oil. Most of the oil sent to Rotterdam will come from Primorsk and Ust-luga ports, using ice-class shuttle tankers. In the future the terminal will also be able to accept oil from other Baltic ports.

Regional and local oil refineries, as well as other market players, will be able to purchase Russian Urals crude oil FOB in Rotterdam. Primorsk Trade Port, LLC is a clear leader among Russian ports in terms of the transshipment of oil and oil products, and has considerable potential for further growth. Thus, this deal joined two major operators in the nation’s port industry and positioned this group of companies to be a clear leader among Russian stevedoring companies, as well as one of the largest port operators in Europe.
OAO LUKOIL, together with its Joint Venture partner Burando Maritime Services, a leading maritime services provider in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region have entered into an agreement to sell 100% of their respective shares of Service Terminal Rotterdam v.o.f. (“STR”) to iCON Infrastructure Partners II, L.P..

Port of primorsk and the Port of Rotterdam also signed a "global strategic partnership" agreement, which is intended to increase shipping traffic between the ports of Primorsk and Rotterdam. Through their partnership, the companies will also explore the possibility of developing a joint business in China, India, and other developing nations, with a focus on working together to promote sustainable development and the use of the most environmentally friendly port technologies.
